Poker

My friend got me playing an online poker. More specifically we play Texas Holdem. I one a tournament the second time I played, and I have posted at least three second place finishes. So it has been nice so far. But I think as I start to loose more the nice feeling will eventually go away. It's good for taking a break. But to spend whole day sitting in front of computer playing poker is not my kind of thing. Ussually after just two tournaments I have enough poker for the day.

Painting

I have been on a painting kick lately. First I painted my room and then I painted my girlfriend's kitchen. I might also paint the bathroom. I found that the painting itself doesn't take as much time as the preparation for painting. You have to move everything out of the way, fill the holes, sand the fillings wash the wall and tape the edges and only then you can start painting. And when it's all done then there is a clean up phase. I have to check the price of the rolers next time I am in the paint store, as those are the hardest to clean. What I mean is that no matter how much water you run through it it always have some paint left in it. And this could interfere with the next painting job. I found the easiest way to clean up is to dispose of the roller :). Anyways, if somebody out there knows how many times you should reuse the roller or how can you tell when the roller is not good anymore please let me know.

Final Exam

Yes, it's finally here. It's the day of the last final exam. You know that feeling you get on Friday, right after you leave work. It's great. It's the feeling of weekend ahead of you. Well, this is going to be even better as I have no school until September, that's even more that your usuall holidays. No more woring about readings, homeworks, projects or tests and quizes. Just laying back and doing nothing. But from my previous experience of finishing final exams I am going to be looking for a book to read within a week. I guess the only difference will be, that it will be a book that I will pick and enjoy. Well, I am leaving for school in a couple of hours, so I think I will take a nap to have the strength to go on and bullshit my way through this exam in the case I have a brainfreeze.

Skype

Last week was the first time I have used Skype. For those who don't know, Skype is a computer software that allows users who have Skype installed talk to each other over the Internet. I have used this before, but using MSN. Recently I had nothing but problems with MSN and I am not talking just about the talking over Internet feature, but access, Hotmail, you name it. So, partly out of frustration and partly out of curiosity as of what is all the hubhub about I tried it. To say the least I was very pleasantly suprised. The Skype website, just like the software has very clean interface and is very easy to use. And the sound quality during a conversation is nothing comparable to MSN. During MSN conversation I can hear my echo in the speakers few seconds later, with Skype I didn't have this problem. When my mom used it she had problems, but she is a technical hadicap so I would count that for much. I will have to go and see what she is doing wrong. All in all Skype is a great product for a great price (free) and if you haven't tried it, you should.

Fishing

Today is my registration day for the summer semester and I have not even paid my registration deposit yet. Why, you ask. Well, about two weeks ago I called my fishing buddy Jeff to inquire if they will be taking me out fishing this year. To say the least he wasn't home, and so I left a message with his girlfriend to get back to me as soon as possible; I really needed to know as the registration date was getting closer and closer. Few days later, he got back to me leaving a message on the answering maching saying something like: "Mario you bastard, you got a job with us this summer." Well, at least I know it was Jeff, I don't think anybody else would leave a messge like that. This was a big news for me as it would determine where I would spend this summer, in school or on the boat. I guess on the boat it is. I am glad it worked out this way because if I would go to school I would only have two courses to take. It wouldn't been a very productive summer.
